So Happy Spring is Here!!

Now that winter is officially over, now this crazy Texas heat can start! Had some change of plans concerning the garden. We were going to do a container garden, but it turned into a raised bed garden! We were lucky to find some old fence wood someone was throwing away and my Babe made me this:

I'm so excited, next step is to get some dirt. I already have some little veg plants and seeds. I plan on starting my seeds tomorrow in milk jug "greenhouses". I have some bell pepper seeds I started from an organic one I got from the grocery store, but didn't have too much luck with them. The leeks and onions are thriving!

We have some wood left over and we plan on making a potato tower. I like how you can just add more dirt and go as high as you want.

I have a customer that asked for me to make their grandson some crochet converse slippers. So funny how things work, I was tagged in the photo several times from friends on social media. It definitely is a learning experience. The pattern comes in size US adult large and I need a kids Medium. I started it over 2 times already, I'm winging it. Sometimes I'm better than I think and don;t give my self credit. Here are some pics:

They work up pretty fast and plan on doing some for the kids. I also started a project for a friend's wedding. I hope she likes it. This will be another first pattern for me, especially adult sized clothing.
It's going to be like a bathing suit/lingerie, whatever she decided to use it for. :) Link: via Raverly

Interested to see what others are doing....don't be shy :)

Catch Up!!!!

Ooooooo wow, it has been a good minute since I have posted. It has been crazy; life goes so fast! There were several times I thought of posting, but had to go soothe a crying child.....or sleep!

Just a little of what I have been up to.... concerning my spirituality, it has come to my attention of all the negativity I have been holding on to. I've come to learn the difference between my Ego and my Higher Self. We, as humans, spend so much time worrying about material possessions and money; we forget what is really important. Gradually,I'm getting better at slowing down and really appreciating what I have. I am truly blessed with the life I have and thank the Divine every day for it. It is dumbfounding how much power a negative thought has. One thing that I have learned and tell myself every day, is that I am unconditionally loved and never alone.

Found an awesome affirmation on online; it is a Negativity Healing Prayer:

"I pray and ask for positive healing energy to come into my energy fields and surround me all day long to release any and all negative energy patterns that I have.
In return, I give a positive mindset to fully release these negative issues in all areas of my life."

You say it every day for 30 days, it really does work. There are times when I get busy and forget to say it, but no matter what time of the day, I recite it. It has been about 3 weeks and I really has helped me. After the first few days, I would get amazing energy when I said it. If you are always having negative thoughts or just negative in general; give it a try. It takes only a sec and can impact you immensely. Also, you do not have to use this same one, if you want to change up some words so it means more to you; go right ahead. I'd love to hear every one's experiences.

Been crafting it up lately!!! I've doe quite a few crochet projects lately and recently started sewing. If anyone is on Raverly? Check me out!
I've putting a temporary hold on crochet for a second to learn to make cloth diapers! We are on a strict budget and are trying to save money everywhere we can. I found this awesome tutorial by a lady named Dianna. These are so easy I wish I would of done them with my son. My daughter is already 7 months but better late than never. I rather make time to do an extra load a week versus paying for something I can make myself. Here are a few pics of what I have done so far......

All put together and waiting on elastic...

Inside look of the "pad"(inside out)

Elastic sewn in and turn right side out.
I used old fabrics that I had (bed sheets, robes, table clothes, old clothes). I've made about 10 so far. Had a lot of fun and really enjoyed myself. Ill update pics when I get the Velcro on!

Finally got around to planting some garden scraps for our container garden. Only have a few green onions and leeks for now but we are hoping to get some seeds soon.
Mark and Tre gettin' dirty!!!

Our trash can compost bin!

Planted and ready!

2 weeks later! Awesome Sauce!!! Lol

Found these clippings in a neighbor's trash, hoping they root!!!!

We still have a few more weeks until it stays warm. I'm still collecting containers and pallets to use for planting. Mark and I had so many ideas! I hope to have more pics in a few weeks. The kids are calling so I'll have to check back later. Love and Light to all and Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!

Here We Go.....

Merry Meet everyone!!! This post is going to tell you a little about me. I live in south western Texas, I'm a 28 year old housewife with a amazing supportive husband and two, way too cute kids. My day(and life) pretty much revolve around the lives of my children. I am blessed to have found a man that doesn't mind me staying home with the kids while they are young.

Spirituality

When I do find a rare, quiet moment(which it not often enough), I like to learn more about my spirituality. Growing up Christian, I always felt that there was something more....or something that made more sense to me. I always remember not feeling in place in Sunday school and never knowing how to answer. Anytime I would ask a question, I was met with aggression and I never understood why. Back to present day: my quest for spiritual growth and brought me to Wicca. I've always felt a type of mysticism in myself, so when I read up on Wicca and what it was about, I felt at home.

I have been on my path now for a little of a year and a half now. I wish I was farther along in my knowledge but between two kids and my husband, personal time is very scant. I have had time to start a Book of Shadows which I will share pics of later. I simple used a 3'' 3 ring binder and notebook paper(more on how I put it together later). I'm not the richest person in the world, so most of my altar tools and what not have been things that I have found or made. I prefer not to buy much of my stuff, as I feel making the things I need will not only bring me closer to the Goddess and God, but will have a deeper connection with myself. As I continue on my path, I have a goal of one day being more green and self sufficient. I would like to have a garden where I can produce a majority of my food and teach my children(and hubby) how good fresh, healthy food can be versus over processed commercial foods.

Interest

I have always thought of myself as kind of a boring person, but as I have grown to know and express myself...I'm not too bad...lol I have recently picked up crocheting, sewing, up cycling: basically am DIY crafts I can make. I hope to hand make at least 80% of all my home decor and holiday decor. Not only is it a relaxing time for me, many things I can involve the children in. I was joking with my husband and asked him how he would feel if everything we had, I crocheted...lol I have found some crazy things I never knew you can make with yarn! Needless to say, my husband wasn't to thrilled about the idea...lol

One craft I'm hoping to explore more are crafts using dried beans. I was looking for different things my son could use to make pictures, past markers and crayons. We have been using dried beans and colored rice. Something so simple and easy with great results. It has inspired me to create a large piece for our living. I just haven't decided in what design to do yet.

As I get more involved in my crafts, I hope that it can be a source of income so that I can continue to be a stay at home mom and enjoy my children wholeheartedly.  Why not make money doing things you enjoy? That's the whole point right?

Cooking

For the longest time, I had strong aspiration of being a chef. I have always had a love of cooking. I remember being in the kitchen with my mother as she would prepare dinners and what not. She always made it look so easy and it was always good! I wasn't aware of my passion for cooking until I got my first job at a local BBQ restaurant. After that, a majority of my jobs have been in the food industry. Along with my passion of cooking delicious comforting food, I also have a passion for feeding people. I get a big sense of pride and accomplishment when I see someone licking their lips and unbuttoning their pants. Food is not a passion, it is life! Later, I will be sharing some recipes that I have picked up over the years. I have a cooking goal of creating a family cookbook for generations to share.

Well, that's it for now; I'm really excited to make more post and see where this all leads me...until next time, Blessed Be everyone and good night!!!
